We went back to the vet this week to see whether 3 weeks of pancreatic enzymes had helped Poppy stabilise her weight loss. They hadn’t, so a day with the vet for ultrasound and thorough investigation  followed. Sadly my worst fear was confirmed, my poor old girl has a large tumour on her pancreas and liver. This is it; no more can be done other than to make her final weeks, maybe months as comfortable as we can whilst we wait for the inevitable.

Asides from her skinnyness, today was a good day. Hard to believe she will be gone soon, when she is running through the woods with her stick chasing my son.

Hard to believe that at the end of this month it will be 3 years since we lost Harvey. I am not ready to lose Pops as well.

Sometimes being a dog owner is the hardest thing…
